What a great weekend for our teens! Praise God for all of the hard work and planning that went in to the Authentic Purity Weekend. May God be glorified as we all strive for holiness and purity!
Welcome to two new members. Rachel Cassady has been visiting with us for some time and has decided to make her membership official. Welcome Rachel! We also want to welcome back a former member, Linda (Fleming) Tollison. Linda moved to the Dallas area for a while, but has moved back to Sherman and is ready to get involved with Park Avenue. Welcome back, Linda!
We have started a Men’s Prayer Lunch on Wednesdays at noon. If you’d like to participate with us, bring a sack lunch and your Bible and meet with us. The focus is on prayer. As of now we are meeting in the library. If you’re interested in joining us, come on Wednesday. If you have any questions you can give me a call at the office.
We have a Let’s Get Acquainted Meal for guests and new members on March 21st after our morning worship service. If you are one of our guests or new members, we’d invite you to reserve March 21st on your calendar to come and eat with us and allow us an opportunity to get to know you.
Our PAWS (Park Avenue Wednesday Supper) will be on March 31st, our 5th Wednesday of the month. Make plans to be with us that evening and enjoy a time of fellowship and good food.
Mission Sunday, March 28th, is approaching quickly. We encourage all kids to be collecting coins in a jar or container to be deposited in Miss Daisy’s red wagon on Mission Sunday. I know each year we are surprised at the amount of change collected for missions. The past couple of years the children gave between $800 and $900. Those quarters and dimes add up...and yes, children do make a huge difference!
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for Spring! I’m ready to dig in the flower beds, smell the freshly cut lawn, and to enjoy the new life of spring. New beginnings — aren’t you grateful for the new beginning God gives us each morning!
